What you take home

Harajuku is not one Tokyo but two—and the pleasure is feeling the city change around you.

Begin beneath the deep green canopy of Meiji Jingu, where gravel, cedar and shrine rituals soften the noise of the city. Then cross into backstreets shaped by design, youth culture and the constant reinvention of how Tokyo presents itself.

Here, solemn ritual and restless creativity sit within a short walk of each other. Experiencing that contrast slowly—with someone who can connect the details—is what makes Harajuku feel more than photogenic.

Because the experience is private, there is time to pause, ask questions and spend more attention on what genuinely interests you. The neighbourhood lunch continues the conversation rather than interrupting it.

You may arrive as a visitor. We hope you leave feeling that Tokyo has become a little more personal.

Why choose this private walk

Three ways the experience becomes personal

The places matter—but the way you experience them matters just as much. These three qualities distinguish the walk from a fixed sightseeing tour.

01

See everyday Harajuku through a local lens

Notice the streets, rituals and small details that rarely appear on a sightseeing checklist.

02

A private pace, with room for questions

The private setting leaves room for questions, closer attention and a comfortable pace.

03

Share an everyday lunch with your guide

Sit down at the kind of casual neighbourhood restaurant a local friend might choose.
