Meet your guide at Asagaya Station and begin your walking tour of Asagaya. Learn about the history of the area, including the origin of its name and its connection to the Asagaya clan in the Middle Ages. Hear about the Asagaya Bunshi Village, a community of writers and artists who lived in the area during the Taisho and Showa periods.


Visit Asagaya Shinmeigu, one of the largest shrines in Tokyo dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess. Learn about the shrine’s history and its significance to the local community. Choose a bracelet with a cherry blossom motif as a souvenir.


Next, head to Asagaya Pearl Center, a shopping street that was once part of the Kamakura Highway. Discover traditional Japanese sweets, such as dorayaki from Usagiya and taiyaki from Tomoe-an. Stop at a retro café for green tea and anmitsu, a traditional Japanese dessert. Browse unique vintage clothing, kimono, and accessory shops.


Finally, visit Zenpukuji River Green Space and Wadabori Park, known as hidden cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo. Stroll along the 4.2-kilometer cherry blossom-lined path along the river, where cherry branches create pink tunnels. Stop at Ozaki Bridge, a popular photo spot.
